Donald Trump gives definitive answer to whether son Barron could become president of the United States

Donald Trump isn’t ruling out the possibility that his youngest son, Barron, could one day run for president.

During a recent Fox News interview with Laura Ingraham, the 79-year-old president gave a tour of the White House and touched on everything from renovations to family.

The conversation took a turn when Ingraham asked which of Trump’s children might follow in his political footsteps.

Trump Weighs In On His Kids’ Potential

The president, who shares five children across three marriages, spoke highly of each of them: Donald Jr., Ivanka, Eric, Tiffany, and Barron.

He described his children as smart, successful, and passionate about the country.

“Tiffany is very smart. She was a great student, always a great student. They’re all great students, actually,” Trump said. “And I think Barron’s gonna be, uh, tremendous at that. He’s very meticulous.”

Ingraham then brought up a popular theory floating around online: “A lot of people think [Barron] could be the next Trump president.”

The two-time president responded: “I don’t know. I think-” before she suggested Eric or another child might also fit the role.

Trump concluded: “In a certain way, they all could,” before switching topics to showcase his Presidential Walk of Fame.

While Barron, 19, has never publicly expressed political ambitions, his parents have been quick to praise his behind-the-scenes role in the 2024 campaign.

Melania Trump previously told Fox News that her son “was very vocal” and gave strategic advice during his father’s presidential run: “He’s a grown young man. I’m very proud of him – about his knowledge, even about politics, and giving advice to his father. He brought in so many young people.

“He knows his generation, because nowadays the young generation, they don’t sit in front of TV anymore. They’re all on the tablets, they’re on the phones, and all of these podcasts and streamers,” she continued.

“He was very vocal, and he gave advice to his father, and [it] was incredible how he brought in a success because he knew exactly who his father needed to contact and to talk to,” she added.

Trump Praises Barron’s “Unbelievable Aptitude” For Tech

In a previous interview, Trump shared a comment about his son that quickly made the rounds on social media – drawing more laughs than admiration.

“He can look at a computer… I turn off his laptop, I said, ‘Oh good,’ and I go back about five minutes later, he’s got his laptop, I say, ‘How do you do that?’ He’s got an unbelievable aptitude in technology,” Trump said.

The comment, meant as praise, sparked widespread ridicule online. Many users pointed out that rebooting a laptop is standard behavior for most college-aged individuals.

One user wrote, “BREAKING: The President expresses astonishment that his college-age son can turn on a laptop… This is abnormal.”

Another joked: “Stop the press. Trump’s son can turn on a laptop!!!!” while a third quipped: “His aptitude is determined by turning on and off a laptop? Lmao gt**h.”

Barron, who transferred from NYU’s Manhattan campus to its Washington, D.C., location, is now living just blocks away from the White House.

Whether or not the teen ever runs for office remains to be seen, but with both parents singing his praises and the public increasingly curious, the speculation is only growing.

“He’s doing a good job,” the president said. “He’s tall. He’s a tall one.”
